Catching up...
30`s seems right to me. 40's seems a little weak.
Good striking distance (for all goals).
But I'd prefer to work up, than down the national rankings.

It's a little disrespectful to the B1G as a whole.
But it's obvious, it's a matter of seeing who
emerges from the B1G, will reap the rewards.
This 2022 Husker team needs to stay hungry.

The Big Ten really hurt themselves by playing a conference only schedule last season. Probably screwed Nebraska out if a regional host and a couple of other bids.

One step forward. Two steps back.
B1G ticks everyone off at least once a season. It's coming.
I`m more interested in the next step forward.
If Big Ten teams takes care of business during the non conference...
not worried about the pre season polls. Regardless...
Huskers proved last season they just need to take care of their own business.
If they do the same, guarantee more doors will be open.

UGH I don't think this gets said enough. You do OOC for an indoor sport like basketball, but conference only for baseball? WTF???

What a gawd awful decision. The B1G leadership was a total clownshow in 2020

From D1Baseball Preseason Top 25 Chat

Harry: Where do you see the Huskers at and the whole Big Ten this year? Can't imagine NU would have too big of a drop off right?

Kendall Rogers: Harry -- I'm glad you brought up the Huskers. For those wondering, Nebraska might have been our No. 26 or No. 27 team. It was that close with those guys and Louisiana Tech, among others. We hated to leave them out, but I can tell you this, they are definitely our favorite in the Big Ten right now. I think the offense will be solid with Max Anderson, Cam Chick and others back, and the front-end of the rotation certainly looks solid with Shay and Kyle Perry. I'm intrigued to see what kind of an impact Dawson McCarville makes. Can he make the impact that Chance Hroch made out of the WAC as well? That's an interesting story for me.

Guest: Speaking of B1G, Iowa has a strong recruiting class last year, strong arms transferring in this fall, when will we know if the Hawks have a chance to do some things at the top of the conference -- their non-conf schedule is very competitive as well.

Aaron Fitt: Great call here, I think Iowa is a regional team. We ranked their recruiting class in the top 25 in the nation, and I think they've got the arms to compete with anybody. Big Ten will be a battle royal as usual, with Nebraska, Michigan, Indiana, Maryland and Iowa all striking me as very real contenders, just off the top of my head.

D1Baseball left us out of their Top 25 but included us with seven others under consideration.
The Husker mention...

Nebraska

It was a tough call to leave the Cornhuskers off the Top 25, but they’re right in the mix. Will Bolt and his coaching staff made a big-time statement in his first full season with the program, reaching the Fayetteville Regional title game and putting Arkansas on the ropes. The Huskers have one of the nation’s premier sluggers in Max Anderson, while Shay Schanaman and Kyle Perry headline an intriguing pitching staff. Nebraska is the favorite to win the Big Ten, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Big Red compete for a regional host site before it’s all said and done.
