If we sign 24 freshmen this year, which means processing out a few players this spring through early graduation (Rock, Hannon), we'll have 11 Seniors next year. I can only think of 2 that could leave early by graduating after 2017 (players who have eligibility left).
That leaves us with only 13 slots for 2018. I would hope that we pass this cycle on "project" players, maybe only sign 19-20, and save the additional slots for 2018. Only exception is if we get 9 more players who are top level.
It's really interesting how our roster adds up for 2017 if we sign to the 85 limit:
