..just a few comments about SOME in this this senior class (in order to keep this post shorter).....some of it based on stuff I know from personal accounts, some just based on what you hear...alphabetically

- Tommy Armstong - nothing more needs to be said - like him/dislike him, I think he'll be missed, and he'll go down as one of the tougher qb's ever at NU (still think Eric Crouch was the toughest)

- Bando - love to see Lincoln (or just NE kids) choose NU and flourish, which he is really doing this year...especially having gone through some of the things he did with the previous staff

Carter - deserves kudos for much, especially when many other La. kids left or got removed from the program.

Cotton - man, his family catches flak...but did you know this kid is a 3 time Academic All B1G and 2 time Berringer winner? Crazy to me how much flak they catch, when in reality they've been good soldiers - glad he didn't follow Barney to UNLV....imagine where we'd have been without him, especially when C. Carter went down

Dzuris - son of a coach, similar to Gangwish last year in that he probably should have never been an NU starter at D-end...but thankful for kids like him that do what they do and lead how they lead, through hard work/effort and example!

Foltz - it's a whole book some day, maybe, but I think he's a huge part of the success of this class and this team...sure most of you agree wholeheartedly.

Foster - just really really solid....program guy....kind of embodies what the NU walk ons have been

Gerry - I think he's really grown AS A PERSON under this staff....shown so much more maturity in what he says (and as a player)

Maurice - like Bando in his growth as a player...also glad he just stayed the course and didn't leave when others might have, especially playing behind two NFL guys

Moore - dude is a baller, and I think he'll get a shot to play post NU

Newby - what Ameer keeps saying will likely come true...he'll play in the league, and might actually benefit by having fewer college career carries than many "featured" backs...

Rose-Ivey - many are ready to see him go....I think many forgot his enthusiasm to recruit others to NU, especially when he was a touted recruit...it will be fascinating to see what the future holds for this kid from a very strong family.

Simpson - so little fanfare, so many contributions, especially on special teams - another kid who embodies the walk on program

Utter - whipping boy for so many, including @Front Runner - we've all seen film of his poor plays, but no one posts the good ones (they actually exist). VERY few know his story, but without a very strong mom (no dad in picture), who knows where this kid is today? It's not his fault he's persevered through a LOT in his personal and athletic (more injuries than many on here know) life to be a 2 year starter and captain.

Westerkamp - I can't think of 3 NU receivers I've enjoyed watching play more than him...maybe none....Nate Swift? Tim Smith (for you old guys - anyone remember he was also the NU punter?!?)? Enunwa? His loss will be really significant - hard to find guys willing to do that dirty work of an inside receiver who also run routes as well as he does...I look for him to have a 10 year NFL career if he's drafted by the right team.

Please add your thoughts on these or other players....this will go down as one of my favorite groups of seniors, maybe my favorite. I think they have righted the ship, regardless of what happens in the next 3/4 games.
