Which Nebraska Cornhusker team are we going to see today against Rutgers? After the Purdue game the players were loudly called out for their lack of on field effort. And they responded with probably our most passionately played game in the Riley era. And there's the Northwestern game. Up until last week's NIU loss this was probably the biggest unexplainable loss in the Riley era. This one made zero sense and the team literally played with zero passion and heart. You see I purposely reversed order these games because we witnessed one of the most distressing seasons ever in 2015 with player on field effort and responsibility. Everyone remembers.

The on field play was outrageous leading up to and finally giving us the Purdue "players standing and watching" loss. I was thinking about all this and our coaching problems especially on the offensive side of the ball primarily with Cav and Langs. The defense was able to reset itself with the Banker firing with new coach and a new system. But the offense coaches haven't had a chance to honestly wipe away the stain of 2015. After watching this year I've concluded that they still haven't. Langs refuses to play Ozigbo... WHY??? Maybe he doesn't want a repeat of seeing Tommy doing him in key moments? Why is he so hell bent on doing things his way??? Maybe it's because he trusted and got burned multiple times??? I'm think we're seeing a residual effect of what happened in 2015 by the coaches in question this season. There is such bad blood swirling around everywhere in our program it's overwhelming. I just hope our players come out and fight for Riley and Co. And I hope our coaches can put the past behind them and find a good game plan to succeed in this game and beyond.

GBR!!!
