Going from 5 wins to 7 wins feels like progress.

Feel like we should be able to do that with or without their best players. I mean it's Boston College. And what is it, 15 days of bowl practices with our new coordinators for next year. Should be a big win no matter what.
A lot of games should’ve been big wins that weren’t this year.
I could absolutely see a world where BC played keep away with long scoring drives and spent most of the game in Nebraskas backfield on defense.
That should absolutely not be the case now.

Agree to disagree. I am looking at this bowl game as game with all the additional practices as game one for 2025 and any coach will say iron sharpens iron. Just my opinion
One opposing DE isn’t going to improve our team. Gottula has faced plenty of talent this year. Gimme a W. It’s important IMO.
Nah he is the best on that defense. Rather him play. But this is the way things are now
They played it right. Make Nebraska game plan as if they will be there. Why let them know ahead of time. The hay is in the barn now.

They're a mid-tier east coast team. Which tends to be way weaker than even the old Big 10 West. We should destroy such a team any time we play them.
That sounds like a Rutgers team to me… We did not blow them out. Hopefully it will be different with DH at the helm of the offense… And it is a blowout. Will know soon enough…
This is just the game he and Kong play. Everyone we play sucks, we should win every game easy. Then if we win, no big deal we were supposed to, and if we lose, fire everyone.

In all my years coaching I never cared if the other teams best players were out/hurt or suspended. I actually hoped they could not play. This weird idea of wanting to play a team with at 100% is odd to me. F that. That is like saying "I hope their coaches make all the right calls during the game". No, no thanks.

That's really not far from reality. We shouldn't lose to the iowas or Illinois of the world more than once or twice a decade.
That is nice to say, but that has not been who we are or the teams we have fielded for a long time. I hope Rhule gets us there soon, but we have to actually grown and get there.
We should have done that this year. If he goes 6-6 next year, he undoubtedly should be fired.
You just say we “should” have like that makes it true. Sure we “should” have just won all our games.
If we win tomorrow that is a 7-win season and progress. Then we “should” get better and take another step next year . But instead of focusing on that, you are already talking about firing the coach. Cool.
That's the minimum standard for any blueblood team is to beat up on any east coast afterthought of a program. If we can't accept that as fans, then we need to just erase the blueblood moniker forever, because it's a joke and embarrassment how far the standards have fallen over the last decade. We had nearly 3 full weeks of bowl practices with coordinators which I assume are upgrades over what we previously had. I'm expecting a blowout, especially when the other team is missing their best players. To me, this is the first game of 2025 and I'm expecting a different team to come out and to set the tone for a potential playoff run next year.
I watching WSU Cougars play Syracuse. I feel bad for my Coug friends. They have 4-5 players not playing.
How can you be sure that it wasn’t thought of given the sophistication of a football program like Nebraska?
Top athletes in programs across the country are dropping out of bowl games so why couldn’t he possibly do it.

I'm not SURE it wasn't. I didn't say I was. YOU said you were SURE they thought of it. Which unless you are a coach there is no way you can possibly be SURE they thought of it lol.
You can hope or think or assume they thought of it. But no way we can be sure.
Yes it does seem logical. But how many other things have we seen this year that seemed logical that didn't happen ?

In game coaching has been absolutely abysmal for two years. Yeah, if we get another year of this, he absolutely should be canned. We've beaten one decent team in two years. That isn't really any meaningful progress. He's upgraded the roster, finally upgraded the OC. He gets next year, hope he delivers. Otherwise, can him.
