2 of Boston College's top guys opt out of Bowl

I wonder if the line moves up now that BC doesn't have their game changing rush end playing. The starting OT is also a big hit for BC, Nebraska now has no excuses to not win this game unless the weather goes way south in a bad way. Nebraska don't let this opportunity slip through your fingers it's teed up for you to hit it out of the park (Yankee Stadium). Winking

I hate this BS of players opting out, even when it's our opponent. There's this thing called insurance and playing one last time with your teammates should mean something.
Under normal circumstances, I'd agree. NU FB hasn't been normal circumstances for anywhere between 7-25 years, so I'm desperate for anything positive. A win would be great, but we also have a storied history over that same flexible time period of putting the other team's backups onto national award watchlists for one week.

Wow, the guy who will be the highest draft pick on either team opts out. Should help Dylan’s health!

Not surprising but BC did kind of keep it under wraps. There had been reports that he wasn’t practicing though so it was probably just a bit of gamesmanship.😃

Though not as well known the OT sounds like a big loss, too. All-ACC.

This is the news I've been hoping to hear! Put me in the camp of just wanting a winning season and I like the Huskers chances much better without a NFL 1st round pick coming off the edge. We don't have anyone who could block him. Hats off to O'Brien for keeping this under wraps until the Huskers had their last real practice and forcing NU to prepare to face the national leader in sacks.

Ha! I just posted something similar. But if he wasn't practicing then I'm sure Rhule would have known about it and planned accordingly. But with that said, it's probably not a bad thing for Dylan to be spending the last three weeks making quicker decisions and not holding onto the ball too long.

Expecting the spread will be more than 4 now.
Vegas doesn't typically put too much point spread value into a non-QB. But this guy is a monster for opposing offenses. I'm thinking that this will cost BC seven points-- Ezeiruaku would have had a strip sack or sacked Dylan to put us out of FG range, or would have hit Dylan as he was throwing to force an interception. I just don't think we would have had an answer for him. But now, we've got to see what BC has behind him. That school has had a pipeline of sorts when it comes to pass rushers.

Seems like a really late announcement the day before the game. Were they not practicing in those pre-bowl practices?

Bowls now seem very diminished with the roster and coaching turnovers before the bowl. What's of most interest to me now is to see what the two new Nebraska coordinators can do after 15 practices.

Was actually hoping they would play. Our guys need tested and shouldn't be afraid of BCU's best.

P.S. I'm saying that more for the fans, not that our players would be scared.
IU provided enough testing for this season and we got an F-. Of course we also got an A- vs OSU! I am just hoping for a victory formation by Dylan and hopefully a chance to play a lot of kids.
