Heh, the 12 had been looking a bit shoddy for sure. I think they should be happy with the matchup since it'll give the conference a guaranteed win.
To be fair it was @scarletred making that take. Think @headcard was echoing it after tt put some decent points up in a short timeframe during the second.
That said I really hope @scarletred isn't betting on games. May need to have a wellness visit by opd here soon if so.

While Sims was an issue it’s obvious that coaching has played just as big of role as talent issues. Hopefully year 1.3 changes that.

For the record, I haven’t been betting bowl games due to opt outs and too tough to tell who wants to be there. I did go 2-2 opening round of the cfp. Stupid Tennessee.
Our record would have been the similar and we would be playing a RS freshman in Kaelin or a TE in Haarberg for year 3. Or we would be chasing the portal for another QB.

Yeh, this roster surely goes AT LEAST 10-2 with McCord at QB, and maybe 11-1 or undefeated.

Right, but is that partly due to the defenses each team has faced? Hence my original question.
There's a reason McCord finished top 10 in Heisman voting and our guy didn't. Look at his college record. There were at least 5 losses where better QB play makes a difference, and a top 10 Heisman finalist QB would have picked up at least 4 of those wins.
We played some shitty defenses where we didn't do much of anything on offense. Just seems like a poor excuse to me.
Two things can be true at the same time.
1) Our offense sucked, but having McCord wouldn't have changed much of anything.
2) Syracuse's offense was good, but much of that could've been due to the weak defenses they faced most of the season.
A better QB makes a difference in every game. And if you had said Nebraska probably gets 2 more wins with McCord at QB, I would agree with you. But you decided to make the hilarious statement (based on FACTS, of course) that NU would have gone NO WORSE than 10-2, despite the horrible special teams play and all the other holes on the roster.
If you don’t like being laughed at, don’t say stupid shit.
Did you forget just how bad Raiola was in those losses? Did you not see how bad his Int-TD ratio was in those games? Yes, 10-2 or better was certainly possible with better QB play.
I didn’t forget anything, nor do I think Raiola is a savior. But this roster wasn’t going 10-2 or 11-1 with Cam Ward or Dillon Gabriel at QB.
