Sean mentioned in his 3-2-1 last week and in the chat today that the Husker staff is working on securing a major addition through the transfer portal. According to the chat today, this player is NOT a QB.
So, given that, who do we think it is? Here are some of the players the Nebraska recruiting staff is following who could be considered “major” additions:
Jared Verse (OLB) - not a “big name” necessarily but was a stud in FCS and has offers from everyone out of the portal
Tre’Mond Shorts (OL) - again, not a big name but was an FCS All-American, has a major offers, and is at a huge position of need
Jackson Bratton (LB) - top 250 player out of HS, Bama commit, connection to NU with Smothers
Zach Evans (RB) - stud 5* RB, was one of best RBs in the Big 12 last season
Branden Jennings (LB) - 5* LB who committed to Maryland out of high school
Sam Taimani (DL) - starting DL for Washington, who fill a huge position of need
Trey Palmer (WR) - 5* out of high school, from LSU so has connection with Mickey Joseph
