    Quick Game Thoughts

    Riley really held the team together today / great effort guys / another close loss

    Thorson won the Stanford game with his running, including a 44-yard running TD just like the 2 long runs he had against UNL today. Not bad, beating a ranked team in your first game as a freshman.

    Zach Sterup ouch

    10 tackles including 7 solo, 6 TFL for -29 yards, including 2 big sacks, and a pass breakup. He's been great all year, but this was just an excellent performance.

    Abandoning the run

    Northwestern's defense was on the field all day and still stronger against the UNL OL down the stretch. Up until the 4th Quarter, I thought UNL had the edge at the LOS. Calling more running plays was not going to get the job done against a good run defense.
