A lot of talk about this stadium renovation obviously. Everyone talks about the stadium being over 100 years old and the need for an upgrade and things that like needing to connect south stadium to the east and west. My question, exactly what part or parts of the stadium are 100 years old? I know bathrooms and a lot of south stadium in general is outdated, but are those bathrooms and cinder block walls really 100 years old? I have to imagine we had updated plumbing, electrical, etc. at some point. When people talk about the need to upgrade because “it’s 100 years old” are they meaning it just looks outdated and not modern or are they meaning like the 100 year old portion could crumble and fall apart?
I’m a believer in if we’re going to spend money I’d rather pay players and retain players through NIL and compete for conference championships and playoff appearances over having the fanciest south stadium in America.
