Rice is AAU, but being a small private school, it doesn't really fit the profile of the Big 10. Perhaps UT will get tired of being the pinata of the SEC, but I would guess they go independent if anything.
I noticed that Iowa State left the AAU last year. Sounds a bit like UNL - not having a medical school hurts their metrics.
