Ok, let's preface by eliminating stuff like blow-outs and games where Nebraska was just owned the whole game. This thread is about the games where Nebraska outplayed, clearly looked like the better team and had some offensive yardage stat advantages that showed they SHOULD have won the game outright,

Here are some entries:

1980: Nebraska vs Florida State
Nebraska built a 14-3 halftime lead over the Seminoles and let them hang around in the 2nd half by turning the ball over repeatedly. Huskers lost 18-14 and you guessed it turned the ball over at the 3 yard line with seconds left. Huskers out gained the Seminoles 368-166. A game we never should of lost AND it was at home.

1999: Nebraska vs Texas
Huskers were on the road and out gained Texas 429 to 275. Fumbles was the key to this game and Nebraska had some devastating ones at the worst times in the 24-20 loss. The Huskers were up 13-3 at Halftime. Dan Alexander's fumble at the goal line was a killer. Nebraska also squandered great field position all day against a team they were better than.

2009: Nebraska vs Iowa State
Two words. EIGHT TURNOVERS! Quite possibly the most frustrating game I have ever witnessed. Nebraska blew at least 4 sure TD drives on fumbles inside the 10 of Iowa State, Letting the Cyclones hang around the whole game when we were driving the ball up and down the field was maddening. I mean SERIOUSLY, one field goal or a Niles Paul not fumbling the ball running free to the end zone wins this game.

What are other games you remember that fit this scenario?
