My question is this, is it MORE or LESS critical to offer & sign recruits that are ready to compete for playing time within the first 2 yrs in todays landscape of transfers and massive roster movements each year? It’s obvious where HCMR stands on this, so please no “you just have to trust he knows what he is doing” replies.
I’ve heard it stated in multiple posts on this board that it’s less important than it used to be because if you take a flyer and it doesn’t work out, you just process them out and take a transfer. Whereas others might argue that because of the trend of players putting themselves in the portal if they aren’t getting significant playing time within the first 3 yrs, how much time do really have to develop these types of guys?
