OT: Tecmo Super Bowl online seasons???

I just found out that you can play Tecmo Super Bowl online, which is super awesome. Has anyone played online and if so how was it? Can you create leagues and play online leagues with friends? I have done a little research online, but I can not find out about the online leagues.
