I've been looking at buying a cabin on a lake, and looking for suggestions. I'm hoping to find something within a 6 hour drive of Omaha. I've looked at Okoboji (real estate is too expensive), Ozarks (like the size of the lake but too busy at times), Table Rock (favorite so far) and Francis Case (not many options w/ direct dock access). I like the idea of heading south to extend the season by a couple months but open minded on this..
We primarily fish, but have younger kids so need to be mindful of the recreational part of a lake (restaurants on lake, etc.).
Also, looking for a larger lake with lots of exploring opportunities. No interest in a small lake.
Any lake suggestions to consider would be much appreciated!! TIA
