A story that probably many have never heard. I was a 22 year old RM2 that had just been appointed to Tech Control Supervisor on board the USS Oklahoma City CLG-5, which also served as the flagship for the 7th flt during the Vietnam War. Until 2018 I never spoke to anyone about this, but through therapy I have made many gains in dealing with the scars of war and this being one of many. I was basically in charge of all HF communications for the ship and the fleet. I will just say that this was the 1st and I think last time that the US Navy was attacked by enemy planes since WWII. Many things happened in 1972 off the coast of North Vietnam most will remain untold.
