***He said the Go Big project is on schedule and on time and will on track to be done in the summer of 2023. He said they felt they were able to overcome some of the inflation but it is still a concern. The project was originally announced to be $150 million but after the inflation, he said Nebraska Athletics went back to the board of regents and raised it to $160 million.

Alberts said they have raised $107 million and have $115 million more to raise. He said has been so impressed by Husker nation stepping up and donating to the Go Big project even after a pandemic.

***Alberts said half the turf was torn out the night after the spring game in order to have it read to go for May graduation in the stadium. He said all the new turf is already lain out but isn't seemed or another past that.

He said he thinks fans will like how fresh the new turf will look after seeing a sun-worn field for a few years.

***He said Nebraska will be restarting doing tours of Memorial Stadium on May 18 after they stopped doing so due to the pandemic.

"This has to be a place where fans feel like they are a part of this," Alberts said.

***Alberts said that Husker baseball head coach Will Bolt told him before the season that he thought pitching would be a strength of his team. However, maybe of Nebraska's injuries have been to the bullpen so that has been difficult.

"If there is any coach that I'll put my money on in making sure the culture's right and is mentally tough enough to fight through adversity, it's Will Bolt," Alberts said.

***He said Husker softball has turned into one of the great stories in college softball. Alberts said he wants to see a record number of fans at the softball games because they are fun to watch.

***Alberts said all of the Big Ten regular-season schedules will be changing for football in the season. He said they will be going to Chicago for Big Ten meetings on May 16 and 17 to discuss the scheduling to see if there will be static teams or changes due to TV providers and more.

***He said there is definitely a way to donate to the Red Carpet Experience. Alberts said they will be expanding it to football and beyond. He said the Red Carpet experience brought attention to being able to involve every Husker fan no matter their financial status.

***Alberts was asked about Husker volleyball player Kayla Caffey's waiver to the NCAA to play in her seventh season but said he doesn't have any updates but they are working hard with the compliance office.

***He said unlike the baseball team, the softball team has had no problem with hitting. Alberts said if fans want to see some home runs, they should go to a softball game. He said he's glad there is a net around the screen because they have been pounding it with home runs.

***A caller asked about what Alberts has seen from the difference between the men's and women's athletics as the women's team are playing well. He said let's not take away from the women's success by focusing on the negatives of the mens' programs that are struggling.

***Men's basketball head coach Fred Hoiberg added Adam Howard as an assistant coach. Alberts said the new coach has brought Hoiberg a new energy, similar to Frost as he has several new assistants as well.

***A caller asked how Alberts and Cook could allow former Husker volleyball player Jordan Larson to coach at another school. Alberts said it might hurt more that she is coaching at Texas.

***Alberts said of the new program to reward student-athletes for academic achievements. He said the reason he went to Nebraska as a student-athlete was because he didn't find another school that was committed to the growth of young people like Nebraska was. He said that is why they launched the initiative to continue that support.
