Have contracts for coaches and ADs become meaningless?

It seems that coaches and ADs can leave anytime they want even if they have 8 years left on the contract. Trev's buyout of $4 million is nothing compared to how much he will make over the next 8 years at A&M. If he would have stayed to the end of his contract NU would have paid him about $19 million. It will be interesting how much A&M will pay him over the next 8 years.

Trev will pay NU $4 million in the buy out. How much would NU have to pay if they fired Trev? Just look at the mess Michigan State is having with Mel Tucker.

I don't know about the rest of you, but if I sign a contract to deliver to deliver 25,000 bushels of corn for $5 a bushel, I have to deliver 25,000 bushels of corn. I will get $5 a bushel even if the price of corn is higher or lower than $5. If I take 10 year loan out at the bank I had better make my payments on time. Contracts mean what they say in real life.
