We're on to game two tonight at Charles Schwab Field as Nebraska (25-20-1) looks to rebound after a crushing loss to Creighton (23-18) earlier tonight in the resumption of the April 18 game. Gabe Swansen earned a sac fly in his at bat with the bases loaded, but a double play limited the Huskers impact to only one run.
Ben Gbur and Nolan Sailors each hit RBI doubles in the top of the eighth to give the Bluejays a 6-5 lead that they would no relinquesh thanks to the three shutout innings by Elkhorn native Malakai Vetock. The Huskers will need to turn this thing around quick as we get going again at 7 p.m.
Nebraska will throw out RHP Michael Garza (2-3, 6.04 ERA) while Creighton will toss out RHP Anthony Watts (2-3, 5.06 ERA).
