A good one on tap today as Nebraska (25-18-1, 10-7) takes on Maryland (32-16, 12-5) for the series finale as the winner takes the series win. Yesterday was a much-needed win for the Huskers who took down the Terrapins thanks to 12 runs and four home runs, but it was Shay Schanaman who stepped up big time by tossing five inning allowing three runs in relief of NU starter Jace Kaminska who allowed seven runs in four innings. Today, it'll be LHP Will Walsh (3-1, 4.06) vs. RHP Jason Savacool (4-4, 4.43 ERA)
The Huskers aren't expected to win this series, but a win today would be huge not only for the confidence of this team down the stretch, but putting a more secure lock for the Big Ten tournament in a couple of weeks. I'd say this is the biggest game since the Michigan series finale in April.
