Friday, April 8th: Nebraska vs Rutgers (Huskers lose 7-5)

Some great at-bats for you guys. He had five walks in nearly 50 innings coming in and you worked four walks against him in the first inning.

1-1 after the 1st. Rutgers with a Leadoff HR and the Huskers with a lot of walks and passed ball to tie it.

A HBP and back to back singles scores a runner to make it a 2-1 ballgame in the top of the 3rd.

1-2-3 in the bottom half

2 run bomb from RU makes it a 4-1 game in the top of the 5th.

RBI triple for Chick makes it a 4-2 game after 5.

An RBI double extends the RU lead to 5-2 and a 2 run bomb makes it 7-2 after 5 1/2.

Knowing they have their ace why didn’t we just save Shay for tomorrow and call today what it is?

They're going with Olson tomorrow

60 pitch build-up, so it'll be interesting to see how many innings E can give us. Should be right around 4 if we stretch him, so that'll give us Ornelas, Martin, Hood & Bragg for the back 5.

Oh boy, Sunday could be ugly unless McCarville goes ham. And next weekend playing 4 games, after a midweek, woof.

So what's the deal with jelkin??

He broke too many team rules, and what led up to Thursday was the last straw. He and his family knew where he stood from a disciplinary standpoint. What rules were broken is nobody's business, he's a 19-year old kid that still needs to grow up and mature.

And what's been floating around social media doesn't tell the entire story. No reason for any of us to dwell on this. Although he's our most talented & projectable freshmen, our staff has shown the ability to recruit.

Thanks. Yes I was impressed with his outings for the most part ON the field. Agreed totally about his promise.

And that's why there's team rules.

Thanks
