Nebraska baseball (21-30, 8-14 Big Ten) hopes to keep its postseason hopes alive tonight with a win over Michigan State (24-28, 8-14 Big Ten). First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on Nebraska Public Media. The Husker bats remained quiet until the bottom of the ninth on Friday and that ultimately doomed Nebraska in the 4-1 defeat. You can read more about yesterday's game HERE. The game will also be broadcast as usual on the Huskers Radio Network with Greg Sharpe and Ben McLaughlin on the call.
Pitching Matchup:
Nebraska LHP Emmett Olson (3-3, 2.75 ERA, 58 K, 16 BB)
Vs.
Michigan State RHP Harrison Cook (1-4, 7.11 ERA, 49 K, 11 BB)
What does Nebraska need to make the Big Ten Tournament?
1. Wins in the last two games against Michigan State
2. One more loss for Northwestern (to make it safe. I believe Nebraska has the tie breaker based on better record against common opponents.
3. Two more losses for Purdue
3a. The third game of the Maryland and Purdue series to be played. Rain is threatening.
