"Can you name the Nebraska women's basketball player who won Big Eight Women's Basketball Player of the Year in 1987-88 and led the Huskers to the regular season conference championship?"

=================================

Answer:

Maurtice Ivy

Ivy scored 19.1 points per game on 50.2 percent field goal shooting and 78.1 percent free throw shooting, plus 6.1 rebounds per game.

Just running through some of the accomplishments in her illustrious career:
  • Just the second WBB player inducted into the University of Nebraska Athletics Hall of Fame (Class of 2020) and second Husker to have her jersey retired
  • Ivy (who wore No. 30) and fellow 2,000-point scorers Karen Jennings (No. 51) and Kelsey Griffin (No. 23) all have their names and numbers displayed on a banner hung up at PBA
  • Member of the Nebraska All-Century Team (2000).
  • No. 3 on the Nebraska all-time career scoring list (2,131 points) and No. 2 on the program’s single-game scoring list (46 points against Illinois in 1986)
  • No. 7 on Nebraska’s career blocked shots list (104), No. 8 in career rebounds (778) and career steals (215)
  • One of the "25 Women of Distinction" selected in 1999-2000 as part of the school's silver anniversary of women's athletics
  • Three-time First Team All-Big Eight performer
  • Her 19.2 career PPG is No. 2 on the program’s all-time list, and her 23.6 PPG in 1986-87 ranks No. 2 on the Huskers’ single-season scoring average list
