Why would this surprise you? No type decision like that comes from anyone than the HC and that applies to almost every HC in the country.

No reason just swinged the momentum our direction and you gave it right back with one super low probability play. We could have put the dagger through their hearts, but no, we gave them immediate hope. Stupid
No he's not. It's still a stupid decision. Betting your entire hand while you are up is stupid no matter the outcome. And it was his entire hand in terms of his coaching career.
It was a weird call for sure, but we were up by 11 and I think we should have been able to overcome that against Northeestern. If it wasn't an onside that went awry, it just would have been something else, it's what Nebraska does under Frost...melt down eventually.
In a twisted way, this type of onside kick has the best chance when nobody expects it. So if he was going to call such a play, this was probably the best time to call it.

The onside kick is literally one of the lowest percentage plays in football. That will be one of the most colossally stupid play calls of the season, in all of college football.

It makes sense that it would be Frost with someone else calling the offense he wasn’t doing enough to lose the game so with that he made an absolutely insane decision to onside kick with the game in the balance and momentum on our side…
As Jason Peter would say, it was a garbage call. You have all the momentum. You have done a poor job stopping the NW offense all day. Why would you take the chance of giving them the ball at our 40 yard line??? Horrible call which ultimately gave the momentum back to NW.
He couldn’t stand not having the play sheet in his and and found the most Frost way of injecting himself in the game by making that call. He deserves everything coming his way except the buyout $$$. He’s done here, IMO.

Thats kind of not true, the defense, as bad as they struggled, got 2 stops late in the game....offense did nil.
