You know who I feel bad for

What were your expectations up to this point?

I expected more O-Line production at this point. Sounds like next year will be a better one. Just not sold on Cav and his non-rotation strategy.

I'm also a little nervous that we're depending on the West Coast so much. I wish that we still had a solid TX recruiter on the staff. Not as far away, and loaded with talented players.

My expectations with the hire of Riley or the expectations of hiring someone other than Riley?
Both. A name for who else you wanted would be nice. I admit Riley wasn't who I was looking for, but neither was I opposed to it. I didn't really have a specific name in mind.

we are discussing football on here. part of discussing football involves talking about poor coaching decisions, failures in recruiting, lack of effort from players, lack of execution from players, etc. If you can't handle that or dont want to see it, then this isnt the place for you.

Davis is supposed to be the Texas recruiter. He's terrible!

Putting me on the spot even though I wouldn't have been the one making the decision..

I'll admit Frost hasn't proved himself and needed this job at CF to make a name for himself, time will tell now.

Why SH waited another year to fire BP is another head scratcher unless he didn't have anyone in line which he should have... But Chris Peterson would have been one, the other if you threw a lot of money would have been Fitzerald, at least find out if he would leave NW for $$$. Another would be Bud Foster, who is Damn loyal to Virginia Tech but he plays the head noises football we like in our program.

How old is Foster? He may be too old.

Thanks, that isn't old and plenty of experience. I'm surprised someone hasn't thrown enough money at him to take a chance.. Like I said with his family he is very loyal to that program.
His name has been out there for years and nobody has ever really even strongly considered him as far as I know. I've always thought either he just really is happy being a career Defensive Coordinator or maybe people just don't think he is head coach material.

Truehuskerfan, answering your first question about expectations I expect to be playing in the B1G CCG in year 3.. Regardless who Eichorst hired.

Is that asking too much?

What is that supposed to mean? If you don't bash players then there's nothing else to do on here?

No way. Someone pointed out, that if you don't post negative thoughts on a missed commit, so you don't post good thoughts on an a good commit. So what is it you do? Meaning, what's the point of your posting? if your just " ok with whatever" what exactly is your purpose for this? You obviously don't care one way or the other, correct?

And IF TA doesn't pull that hamstring in the Wisconsin game (according to TA that's when it first happened) maybe we would have played in the B1G championship game. IF we don't lose half of our starting offensive line before and during the season due to injury maybe we play in the B1G CCG. We were one play away from beating Wisconsin and doing just that. IMO, we could have beaten Iowa with a healthy TA. Your expectation with those reasons being what they were, were unrealistic as it turned out. Get over it. Injuries to your QB are tough to overcome, especially if you lack a top backup. Ask Oakland. Just a few weeks ago there were multiple national NFL "experts" that had the Raiders in the Super Bowl. ONE injury and they're done.

Yeah, sure I spend time on this board because I don't care one way or the other. That makes a lot of sense. My general reason for being here, and always has been, is to try to give a positive voice once in awhile. With the pervasive negativity which always infects these boards, there needs to be some positivity once in awhile. Does that sound like somebody who doesn't care one way or the other? I wouldn't waste my time reading and trying to inject some positivity if I didn't care one way or the other. Just because I don't complain all the time means I don't care? That's ridiculous. As far as recruiting, I just don't comment on it much. I pay attention to it, I care about it, I just don't comment on it much. There are plenty of other people who do that.

Apparently you didn't watch last years Iowa game versus Iowa? I sure would have liked to have found out though. I'll never understand what happened, but something happened in that locker room between Maryland and Iowa.

Defeatism. I really think that losing TA (he shouldn't have even been on the field against Iowa) and the crappy start we had in the Iowa game caused a few guys (NG cough cough) to throw in the towel early. We had some guys play their butt off but it appeared obvious to me that we had some guys on the defense that quit. TA with a run game threat would have caused Iowa all sorts of problems and we can't underestimate how much having a bad wheel affected not only his accuracy but his decisions. I was very critical of TA's performance in the pass game until I found out how serious his injury actually was. We had no choice but to play him. It turns out it was him or Darlington and we got to see that in the bowl game. HAVE to land a walk on QB this cycle in addition to Gebbia.

I believe your the one that shouldn't make excuses for the Wisconsin game. We had them not only in OVT but with time remaining near the end of the 4th Q.Don't believe my expectations are not on realistic.

Do you think that a hobbled TA may have played in to the result against Wisconsin or not? I had noticed him limping late in that game but didn't think anything of it until he mentioned it leading up to the bowl game. Look, I was sick about the Wisconsin game and thought that we gave it away. That said, ONE play in that game and we win it. Would a healthy TA have been able to make ONE play with his legs to win that game? I say yes. Think of this. What did ONE play mean against Missouri when Matt Davison caught that kicked ball against Missouri. One play. My point is that the sky is NOT falling. IMO, we're closer than we've been for a while to fielding a really good team and we've got a bunch of clowns on here bashing our coaches with just a few weeks til signing day. IF they're really Husker fans, they are really stupid.

I'm not the one of them bashing the Coaches..I'm behind them but you have to admit the Verdict is still out whether SE made the right choice, we'll find out now with his type QB and recruiting his players and most of the Peelini cancer has left the team for next year.

Yes, I feel terrible for all of us fans that would give our left nut to win a National Championship again. I feel worse for the people that pay for the content that makes us all feel like shit inside when it all falls in the shitter. Turns out that it was all a bunch of bull, and they pay for it

Never been a premium member, but the folks I know who pay for that kind of stuff have known for weeks now that 3/4 of those guys on Saturday were long shots (asterisk, we on the free board knew this too).

A few tidbits about inconsistency in travel plans, student directories, and just plain hope etc is what got the jimmies riled up on the free board, which IMO, has experienced much more of a mood swing.

Jamire was the only surprise.

I 'm not sure why the bashing of True... I know he can be pointed but he does not bash the kids.
Disappointed today? Yes. But I have been since 2001 when I thought we had Carlyle Holliday wrapped up... Try not to get too high or too low but it's hard

Omg- that day was ROUGH--- and also when that QB from Compton went to USC--- can't remember his name- Thomas? Also Odell James went to Baylor

We had a premium membership in the family for a long time and we used to just marvel at the ignorance spewed on the free board. Part of it is that fans of any team in the NCAA can post on here and pose as Husker fans without having to pay anything to do it.

why have expectations, first our coaches make a LOT more money than you and I, second, why are we always being fed only the good, give us some truth...we are all adults here..this has happened over and over ..whether WH, JS, HI, or coaches on TV...blowing smoke to sell their product...and they know we will buy it..sad...

They don't want anything negative on the pay site. The minions on there will jump you. I have ben told Clouse is the biggest click bait artist of all the pay sites. That doesn't make it true but it's interesting nonetheless.

@Nate Clouse is the best thing that has ever happened to Husker Online. For anyone to say he's a click bait artist is a potato.

Click bait when he called Donte Williams?
Click bait when he called KJJ?
Click bait when he called Gebbia?
Click bait when he called Roberts?
Click bait when he called Dismuke?
Click bait when he called everyone in the 2015 class safe except Jones out of Florida?

There's a heck of a lot more than the above too.

Yes, he's been wrong. Every single recruiting specialist has been wrong. He'll be wrong again in the future, just like everyone else. However, I'll take his word in regards to Nebraska football recruiting, as well as other NU football parts, over anyone else that covers the program.

He's extremely well connected to our athletic department, and it sure as hell isn't because he's click bait.

If...if...if...if....if....if....if.....
Tommy don't play defense either against Iowa.
Almost forgot...if.
Man I hope ifs can win us games. We'll be undefeated soon.

Well IF you hadn't noticed (you're stupid then), EVERY team's season depends on IFs. You get your starting QB hurt without a quality backup and you're screwed and that's not an IF. That's a certainty. TA doesn't play defense but maybe we're able to get a first down IF he was healthy so our defense isn't on the field the whole game. Maybe just maybe we can outscore Iowa IF TA was healthy. IF Matt Davison doesn't catch that kicked ball against Missouri Tom doesn't win that championship. The "no excuses" crowd lives in fantasy land.

IF Riley had done a better job of coaching, Wisconsin game would not have come down to one play. Or been blown out by 7-4 Iowa. How's that for an "if"? Or does it not count?
Way to get out the name calling. Typical loser.

You only like IFs IF they justify your dislike of Riley or any other coach for that matter. And I didn't call you any names. Better re-read the post.

I don't like IFs period. It was a tactic used to point out how dumb and completely out-of-hand your excuse-making is getting.
I don't dislike Riley, if you follow my posts you'll know that. Wait, you won't, because you have to attribute ANY criticism that you even perceive to be directed toward these coaches to nothing but dislike and hate and wanting to fire them, etc.
I simply hold this staff accountable for things. I don't blame them for everything. But I do point it out when they crap the bed, you know like losing to BYU or Purdue or Illinois, or 30 point losses to crappy Iowa, or even mediocre recruiting results. You know, like we didn't do enough with Bo Pelini and had him too long.
The group-think and thought police like you need checked every now and again.

Thanks, but I don't need your pity. Riley just needs this class to be good or we will have to put up with people like you bashing him for years to come.

It's a cycle and in the long run it really is that people like me don't want to hear all the negative shit over and over again... If we don't get anymore of the Calabasas connection, we miss out on an opportunity that we won't see again for a loooong time

In the future you are the one that is going to be in the dump. I'm all good, just sucks to go 0-4 today... As I stated it is just football

am i the only one, or do other people feel that we dont need four letter words in our postings. NU fans have more class than that.

It was simply a tactic to throw his if crap back in his face. I have no beef with that loss.
All I've seen you do is spew crap this past couple of weeks at Riley with just a few weeks left till signing day. With recruits and their families reading these boards, I would say that's pretty stupid behavior for a Husker fan. But go ahead IF it makes you feel better about yourself. I wasn't the one that started the what if game.

Not true. Just trying to make yourself feel better by trying to make me out to not be a real fan. Whatever, go cry in the corner.
