Can't say I blame him.. I don't get the love fest for Rahmir.. especially on an important down of an important series, when you have a battering ram on the sidelines.. Whip will never really know how to do the run game correctly. Yant could have a future if he got some snaps and decent coaching. So sick of the absence of a decent running game. It's the only thing that really matters that you get right, first, in this league.

Can't run the ball if you don't get some push up front

He may be big, but he false starts, falls down, and turns away from contact on a regular basis. He may be the most over rated player on the roster. Rahmir proved last year he could be the #1 back. Yant hasnt.

#1 back? That's a laugh.. Rahmir hasn't ever mattered.. not even once.

Yant was averaging 6.3 yards per carry last year.

They have really screwed him up this year.

He'd do ok in the Sun Belt or AAC. Lots of goal-line situations where he couldn't get the job done.

After the Northwestern game he shit himself. I bet his ypc was under 2
Illinois game, they gave him 3 carries for -4 yards.

They have given him no more than 4 carries a game this year.

Rutgers game he was back up to 5.5 ypc with 4 attempts.

An against OU he was at 4.8 ypc on 4 attempts.

I get we have better backs on the roster, but I think the staff has dropped the ball with him.. he could have helped us last week.

oc likes the pass, very little of the run.

Yant lacks burst. Hate watching him get the handoff and trod to the line. She showed 1 game he could get some serious yards once he gets going but I do not care if he leaves.
He has poor balance . Stumbles when he starts toward the line , way too often.

Ha! He runs like he's running on ice. Zero thump, zero feel for the game. The fact he played at all is an indictment on the coaches.

Almost the whole team might be looking around once a new coach is hired and the current staff is fired. Zero surprise.

This thing needs an almost 'ground zero' teardown. Will likely be a pretty painful 2-3 years on the way to a potential turnaround.

The longer it takes for the new HC announcement tells me:

1. The HC is still HC somewhere else
2. He is in a OC/DC position where he needs to at least finish the regular season
3. 10-11 guys have said no and Trev is making his pitch to Fred Petito or corch Huffman
4. Bigtimebooster hasn't given Trev permission to make the announcement and it only happens when he sez so

I heard yant thinks about transfering every week, has gave up some fast foods, and still has no balance (on a consistant basis).
but I would be ok using him to run at mich if the other backs can't make a dent.
but then we will probably just watch thompson and smothers on the beanch and purdy go 3 and out most the game.

yant is a weird dude...I've seen him stumble like a drunk on a 3 yard play with nobody around....

then I seen him do a 360 full speed to make 2 guys miss and gain more yards...

maybe he gains balance only at full speed?

which we will never know cause he never gets on the feild cause we need to pass to get off the feild with points, interceptions or 3 and outs, so our defense gets properly wore out in the second half...

When was the last time Nebraska ran a heavy power I formation with a fullback/h-back? Someone like Brewington could fill that roll as a lead blocker.

3 WR set with Palmer in the slot and Washington/Manning on the outside.

This way we could use Smothers to do bootlegs and short slants.

I don't understand this football team or play-calling/player management.

Seems like common sense to me, granted our o-line is terrible but they did show something in the first half of the Minn game.
