Kenya Hunter hadn't left and Xavier Johnson had stuck with his commitment to NU - would Miles be gone and NU preparing for a new coach today? Although Pitt struggled this year, Johnson led them in scoring (broke a 30+ year freshman scoring record) and assists. He would have given NU another scoring option to mitigate the streakiness of Palmer, Watson and Roby that they sorely lacked, especially after Copeland went down.

Something else to speculate about if you are tired of speculating if/when Hoiberg will be named coach.

There's all kinds of what ifs that can be floated. We likely lost Hunter because he knew Miles was not Moos's guy. There are multiple reasons why things went south including some horrible injury luck this year. First a promising freshman tears an achilles, then Cope then Harris. The one common theme leading up to our lack of depth though was Tim's inability to retain Jacobsen, Morrow and then Jordy. IF I had to point to one single thing that led to Tim's demise, it was losing Jacobsen and Morrow. Morrow is not a great player, but he was a team leader and Husker legacy. Those 2 guys played their asses off and when you lose starters, something is wrong.
