There may be more but these are the worst turnovers that directly lead to a Husker loss by snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I ranked these in order of the direct impact on losing the win.

#3. Tyreese Knox Fumble in 1988 Fiesta Bowl:

With just under 8 minutes left in the game and Huskers driving inside 2 yardline with a 28-24 lead over Florida State, Know fumbled on 2nd and goal giving the Seminoles a shot to drive 97 yards for clinching TD. Had Knox scored, Huskers likely win.

#2. Terrance Nunn Fumble vs Texas in 2006

Huskers lead and just needed a first down to be able to run the clock out and clinch an elusive home win vs Texas. On 3rd and a couple, Zac Taylor hit Nunn in the flat and after Nunn crosses the 1st down marker he was hit and fumbled the ball. Texas recovered and sealed the win with a field goal. Heartbreaking loss that still hurts.

#1. LeKevin Smith fumbles a game sealing pick vs Texas Tech in 2005

Huskers were down 21-0 early to Texas Tech after getting blasted in 2004 70-10. Battling back, the Huskers took a 31-27 lead in the 4th. Tech drove down the field with minutes left and with 1:13 left, LeKevin Smith intercepted a Cody Hodges pass. All LeKevin had to do was drop to the ground and game was over. Instead, he tried to run with the ball and was stripped. Texas Tech recovered and scored the game winning TD with :12 seconds left.
