If you like good team basketball, I suggest you catch the Husker Women's Basketball team. Coach Amy Williams has them playing at a very high level. Granted, the only team of substance they've played so far is Creighton but so far, they've scored more than 100 points three times. In the last game, Jazz Shelley snagged a triple-double with 14 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds in 20 minutes of play. Ally Weidner from Humphrey, Nebraska, had 8 points, 8 assists, and 8 rebounds in 15 minutes of play.
The team features three talented Aussies in Isabell Bourne, 14.2 ppg (hitting 60% of her shots and 40% from beyond the arc), Shelley, 11.2 ppg, 8.6 rpg, and over 5 apg (54.3% shooting, and a whopping 54.5% on 3 pointers), and Ruby Porter,
Allison (Ally) Weidner and Alexis Markowski are proving they belong at this level. Weidner, a true freshman from a Class D school, is averaging 7 ppg, 5 rpg, and 4+ assists per game in 16 mins a game. Markowski is a strong presence in the middle and teams are already triple-teaming her. She's averaging 9.6 ppg and 5 rpg. She's a little foul-prone.
The Huskers play intense defense. You don't see the court under Coach Williams until you can defend. They force turnovers and run up and down the court. They could easily play 11-12 people on any given night. They're that deep. In their offensive sets, they are constantly moving and moving the ball around. In five games, they've managed 112 assists. If my math is right, that's 22.4 assists per game. That results in a lot of points.
This is Coach Williams' favorite play from the Creighton game. The woman scrambling and hustling around is Ally Weidner.
