Will Riley go Bill Callahan '07 KSU on Illinois tonight if given the chance?

Things had turned really bad in '07 when we headed to play a bad KSU football team. We started rolling and Callie showed no mercy by scoring 73 points on them...21 in the fourth quarter alone. In the 4th quarter even though we were ahead by 42 Ganz was still in the game and threw two TDs. Lucky scored the last TD with under 5 minutes left.

It didn't change the outcome of the season but a lot of pressure was relieved at least for a time.

I think Riley will go Riley vs Illinois '15 to be honest... We're in year 3 and I see no sign of optimism. I expect a close, low scoring game in which either team could pull out the W.

I think you'll be right.

I hope so, but we struggled to score on NIU and Rutgers the last 2 weeks. I don't see us going "Bill Callahan" on anyone.

Maybe he'll get a contract extension if he wins. Help boost that buyout.

I'm thinking we come out flat as usual. We have a good chance to win based on talent alone but make no mistake Illinois knows how vulnerable our QB and line is and they are going to do everything they can to exploit that. The question is can our HC and OC finally put together a solid 4 quarter game plan to counter what will be thrown at them?

you do realize that the game is tonight right? not saturday?

You are right, out of the country this week and it slipped my mind that we are playing on a Friday. Huskers have always been my college team, ever since the heartbreak loss to FSU in '93. These last four years and the current status of the program makes it very difficult to find optimism. Specially knowing we have the resources ($) and the fan support to have a top-tier program.

I think people around the country think Texas is on the right track after their defense turned around after the Maryland game. There is really no reason to think Nebraska hasn't also turned that corner and is on the right track after a pretty remarkable defensive turnaround of our own. I'd say the Texas offense is no better than Nebraska's offense.

Let's give this team some positivity and see what happens. I think fans are so scared to look silly by thinking good things might happen when they don't. I support this team and I think we can turn the tide.

I have no idea if we have turned any corner. Oregon is the only half-way decent team we faced and who can tell anything from that crazy performance. However, we can cheer on the team, hope for the best, and see this season get turned around.
