Watching this team the past two years under these coaches has been so frustrating. Nebraska fans need to get used to mediocrity. The coaches do not have the killer type instinct that needs to be engrained in the team. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the schemes they use. There is no aggressiveness on defense unless in blitz package. I see Coach Riley walking the sidelines doing his "ah shucks" routine, but little else. Recruiting will be adequate but not great, but will allow us to continue be 6-7 to 10-3, depending on luck because every game will be close. There will no blowout wins as that is not the coaching philosophy - just stay in the game and hopefully we can pull it out in the fourth quarter. Guess we just wait out the Riley era and hope for something better in the future.

Why not just accept this for what it is and relax? Mike Riley is not Bob Devaney or Tom Osborne. OK, we got it. So what are you going to do about that? Exactly, nothing!! He won 9 freakin' games! We all want to win NC's again, don't get me wrong. But if he doesn't ever win a NC, does that mean he failed? I agree there are better coaching staffs out there, that's evident, but there are a lot worse too!
Are there a lot worse? It would be interesting to compare records of coaches with similar years in the businesses
I guess my first bit of advice would be this
1. Don't hire the "worse coach"
2. Don't hire a guy with a body of work that sucks
That game was like watching an episode of Oz. Nebraska was gang raped on the pool table by the brotherhood.
