With DPE out, I am simply hoping for punts to be caught.

Though Westy dropped two of 19 ; we have lots of talent, coaches are trying other guys out. Maybe no DPE; but another very capable player will emerge.

We would have needed a Desmond Howard level player back there in 2013 before they would have even looked competent. Did we even practice punt returns? We didn't block. We didn't play the fake. We didn't set up any particular return.

We have a full-time special teams coach now. If with a full time coach we can't be decent at punt returns even without Pierson-El back there then we need to reconsider the coaching responsibilities. We have too many good athletes to be cheering for a successful fair catch.

We had probably the worst coached punt return team of any I have ever seen at ANY level. You stick a freshman back there knowing he's got NO help and you are gonna have muffed punts.
