It has nothing to do with being an Iowa fan or a fan of any team. If you come here and treat people with respect there never are issues.
If you come here to fight or cause trouble, you won`t last.

Girl on girl not withstanding I hope......

And Iowa is ranked in the top 5 with that cream-puff schedule!! - while Nebraska is not even close to being ranked (nor should they be)

That's the point being made here.....

Ok, we agree that you are delusional. The reason you are not ranked is that YOU HAVEN'T GONE UNDEFEATED. If you had gone undefeated with that schedule, you would absolutely be ranked, rightfully.

You're giving them crap about an easy schedule where we lost to several the opponents that they beat? If their schedule was so easy, then what was ours? Why didn't we take advantage when playing Illinois, purdue, nw, wiscy, etc.?

We aren't good, and aren't over here pumping our chest at how awesome we are. Some of the Io_a fans are decent, but they are just looking for a pat on the back.

I'm pretty sure we'd be over there real quick if the records were reversed. Some of us are by the way. We've had Iowa threads up and down this board all season. It looks petty on our part. It's always us against them for some reason. For everyone that says this isn't a rivalry, then why do we hate each other so much? It's weird.

Come on, let's have some objectivity. Let's look at the Sagarin ratings. Iowa's out of conference schedule rates #30 Pittsburgh, #62 Iowa State, #75 Illinois State, and number 177 North Texas. Nebraska's is #48 BYU, #54 Miami, #86 Southern Mississippi, and #128 South Alabama.

Both schools played one fairly tough team, with Iowa's being better. Two middle of the pack teams, with again Iowa's being slightly tougher. Iowa's average comes out worse because they played a simply horrible team in North Texas while Nebraska played a simply bad team in South Alabama. The out of conference schedules are very comparable, and Iowa played the unquestionably toughest team, at least according to Sagarin.

Agree to a certain extent. BYU would be a lot higher if Taysom Hill wouldn't have got hurt. After he got hurt in our game, they were out of the race, but their ranking would have been much higher if he stayed healthy. This is pure opinion, but Miami would kill ISU. They are terrible. I don't necessarily knock you guys for close wins though in that game because it is an in-state rivalry game, and you never know.. Iowa on the whole though, never plays anyone. Arizona and Arizona State are about as far as you have reached out, and that has been awhile ago. Wyoming might be your toughest non con going forward. We've scheduled BYU, Oregon, Miami, Tennessee was on there at one point as well as upcoming with Oklahoma. Maybe the landscape will change with an extra big 10 game, but ISU, NDSU, and NIU and others are pretty bad.

I find the lact of respect for Iowa from Nebraska fans interesting. Not saying that this is not posible as I have thought the game at Nebraska would be tough all year but this is a good Iowa team and Nebraska will have to play a mistake free game to beat Iowa. As far as the B1G championship game has Ohio State really impressed you that much that you can say Iowa would not have a chance in this game? I would not be surprised if Michigan ends up in B1G game againt Iowa. As far as Bowl game other than Alabama I think Iowa would be a tough game for any team. There is NOT a great team out there this year. SEC overall is NOT that great this year. I don't think any other conference is better than B1G this year. I wish that Nebraska would have won 6 games this year and been bowl eligable as I enjoy watching all the B1G teams in bowl games. But since you now have to beat Iowa to get their I don't think it is going to happen unless Nebraska ends up being one of the 5 loss teams that goes bowling this year. Looking forward to a good game Black Friday. Love the Friday tradition.
Iowa needs to have more than one good season every 5 years to earn a lot of respect here.

You are 100%. I think the "rivalry" is still manufactured. It seems like a bigger deal because their dipshit message board folks come over here as well as ours go over there and make it seem like a ton of hatred. I know a bunch of Hawk fans and outside of the message board there isn't much. I feel more of the rivalry environment with Wisconsin. It's almost like Colorado used to be. They may want it bad, but never win enough to make it one, and our fans don't buy in to the whole rivalry notion.

Its not a rivalry. Most Iowa fans dont hate Nebraska. Mostly the Western Iowa ones who grew up in the Omaha media market. They do loathe Nebraska and were pretty traumatized by our success especially in the 90's.

Nope - I would expect Nebraska to be catching just as much flak (and deservedly so) for their strength of schedule if they were ranked as a top 5 team....pretty simple to understand.

What user name do you post under on the Iowa board?

You guys are like liberals, you get your talking points and keep hammering it. Iowa's schedule..........First of all, the BIG made the schedule, not Iowa. Yes, Iowa scheduled Iowa State, Illinois State and Pitt. Illinois State was ranked #2 in FCS when they played. North Texas (Yeah, they are bad), Iowa State is a game they pretty much have to play, and Pitt has lost 3 games,, all to ranked teams. Pitt was ranked shortly after losing to Iowa. Iowa has beat two ranked teams, Wisky and NW on the road. Ohio State has yet to play a ranked team, and I don't hear anyone bringing up there schedule. Yes, its tougher at the end. I guess if we go by schedule, then Nebraska is the weaker of the final two games for Iowa, since the Pink shirt defense figured out a way to give up 55 in an embarrassment to Purdue. Losing to Purdue is not an embarrassment, but 55 Points? C'Mon man........ You guys want to preach schedules? Lets examine yours........BYU, equivalent maybe to Pitt, South Alabama and Southern Miss aren't exactly upgrades to Iowa State and Illinois State, and Miami? For the most part, Miami has been hammered by every team with a winning record. So Michigan State is the only team that is better then what is on Iowa's schedule and they should have had a loss at Michigan and they have squeaked by everyone else in the BIG on their schedule. At least Iowa has beat all the sisters of the poor on it's schedule, Nebraska hasn't. LOL Maybe some Hawk fans are beating there chests as some of you have stated, but Nebraska fans have been doing that for years, and you haven't won anything since the last century. Lowly Iowa has at least won a couple conference championships this century.

I will agree about Iowa's schedule going forward. They are really hamstrung by having to play Iowa State every year. With the Big 10 going to 9 conference games, and Iowa needing 7 home games for budget reasons, Iowa gets ISU and 2 non conference cupcakes every year. Iowa fans aren't happy but it is what it is.

Yeah a couple "shared" conference titles you didn't deserve. Congrats "bullies" of the Big Ten! 3-1

You know, you made me chuckle my friend when you use the word didn't deserve to describe Iowa's conference championships. When were Nebraska's conference championships? In the BIg 8 days. A conference which had two good teams and 6 doormat teams. All Nebraska had to do was beat one good team (Oklahoma) and it had a conference championship. I wouldn't exactly say they deserved it either, but OK. It looks good in the history books. :)

You sure about that? You may want to do some research on that...hell, just take a peak at Nebraska's 1995 national title year. Tell me, did Nebraska only have to beat 1 good team? Nebraska and Iowa have played quite a bit in their history...I assume you don't consider Iowa a good "team" considering we own that ass. Congrats on "claiming" Big Ten titles this century where 1. You lost to the real Big Ten title team..Michigian and 2. If you would have played Ohio State in 2002 they would have owned you...Ohio St, the real Big Ten title team in 2002.

So what was Iowa's excuse in the past? Being in the easy Big Ten in the 70's, 80's, and 90's you sure didn't take advantage of that soft schedule.

Yeah, I'm sure about that. I was talking conference championships. Hawkeye fans don't claim to be some historical juggernaut, problem with you people is, all your teams success is historical. You people are like Notre Dame fans, of course, you almost have to go back to pre face mask days for there glory.

Yes poor us. I would much rather be an Iowa fan and celebrate 7 and 8 win seasons.

I did. But I'm sure you have noticed since you are obsessed with me I have made a post over there this season.
No one's obsessed with you buddy, you're just kind of annoying and attract that kind of attention. I've explained before that I have family who are Hawk fans. So I'm not a huge hater of them, as I really see no reason to be. Then again, I haven't been in the area for the larger part of 10 or so years. Go over there and tell them how much you hate them.

i guess the point is, when you schedule a team like Miami, USC, Virginia Tech, Oregon, UCLA, etc. you expect it to be a good challenge to your team, When you schedule Pitt, you are expecting a win.

No, they pretty much hate us. Many of my family members are Hawkeye fans, and believe me they despise Nebraska. There is absolutely no love for us anywhere in Iowa. The only team they hate more is probably ISU, and even that is stretch these days. The hate started well before we ever got to this conference, and there have been much more successful teams as of late. The hate is mostly due to the bickering back and forth. It's genuine dislike from what I see.

you might google the final top ten in 1995 then come back here.

Ole Cornicator never disappoints. Y'all have your laughs now because on Black Friday you'll be crying.

On January 6th, when the final AP Poll comes out, will Iowa still be ranked after closing out the season with 3 straight losses?
You are something else. Thanks for giving the Hawkeyes a win against Purdue, someone Nebraska lost to.
It's college football. Anything can happen. Worst-case senario, something that all you Red People should remember from RIGHT NOW until the final rankings. Iowa may have three straight losses, but that will be HALF as many losses as Nebraska would have.
The Hawkeyes will enjoy a warm-weather bowl, no matter what from right now until the selection commitee decides.
Keep this in mind, Cornicator (Adore your avatar, but not you) the VERY BEST case senario for Nebraska would be 7-6.
Enjoy all that Detroit has to offer in late December.
GO HAWKEYES!

No, I would not be on their board. I don't look to Io_a for validation.

Since the site administrator has no issue with it perhaps you should pm him and express your concerns rather that doing a " look at me look at me" post
and calling out a member of this board. Interesting how you focus on something not on the list and show blatant disregard for the rules and call him out.
Let us know how that goes for you.

Yes, but wouldn't the Huskers still have scoreboard?
And wouldn't it suck to know the first team in Iowa history to go 11-0 still couldn't beat the first Nebraska team in 60 years to lose 6 games before November?

It also must sadden you to know when Nathan Bazata, Cole Fisher, and a crutches riddled Drew Ott look up at the Video Board during the Tunnel Walk, they're going to watch the Huskers come out on the field and still wish they could be part of that 5-6 Scarlet donned team trotting out of the tunnel.

dang
tough crowd indeed ..sort of like the Minnesota gophers .. tough, nasty , nameless people on message boards, but all were real nice in person and even apologetic about their own message board comments .. I do believe that is common in many places.
and yes , most 11-3 teams are ranked at year end , especially with losing to teams the likes of Ohio State, a tough bowl team ,and of course a .500 club in lincoln

You're right. IF it happens, you would have scoreboard.
As far as the three Hawkeye players you mentioned, well, I can't speak for them and their feelings. And I don't think you can either.
GO HAWKEYES!
