One day in Lincoln, the next day in Orlando
I mean I love the streak that we have going on but I don't see our AD ever making a homerun hire. Why should he? Nebraska will continue to be profitable.

Also, why the hell do we hand out 16 blackshirts?????????? Hand it to only those that deserve it. Whether if there is only 1 or 2 (there isn't on this team yet).

Diaco is handicapping our players.
So much 3 man rush.
So much lbs covering.
So little blitzing and stunting.
Savin it for northern illinois!

Exactly. Fire Riley and have fun watching this year's recruiting class sabotage the next head coach in 4 years.
We're ranked 50th in recruiting. I don't think Riley should be fired but not making that decision based on yet another average recruiting class makes no sense.

Firing Riley isn't the answer. When will we learn to give coaches time to build rather than start over?
I agree with this. We cannot continue to fire. That said, I am extremely disappointed in all the hires we have had since TO retired.

I dont care who he recruits. You have to coach them. Last 8 games? He has won 3. What are you people thinking??

I don't want anyone fired. I want to see the best passing team Nebraska can muster with a good defense. then see if thats enough to get it done.
if it is thats great, if it isn't then I will have been correct that the best way for Nebraska to win is the old school way of running the ball.
Im not sure tanner lee playing one year is going to get us there.
so I want riley to have 5 years and all that he asks for...then I will decide if progress is being made. if it is great. if not we go back to Dr.Toms offense and mcbrides defense.

Only one hire was a complete failure. The Riley hire is trending in that direction. I laugh when people think Solich and Pelini were horrible coaches. Both won a lot of games, but didn't win enough or the ones that mattered in a lot of Nebraska fan's minds. We probably won't even sniff a division title with Riley. Any unbiased person could see Riley was a poor hire from the start. Nebraska is the place where 9-10 win coaches get fired only to be replaced by coaches coming off losing records.

You are absolutely correct we cannot fire Riley nor should we. I think he will retire in a few years if the trajectory of the program stays the same.

Now Eichorst he can be fired and should be. The AD from a production department is horrible if he is in charge of the whole thing and all our sports suck who is to blame.

Lol..... Every AD in the country from a major college program has told you what a failure Solich and 408 were, because none would touch either guy.

I suggest holding your breath. Or maybe a hunger strike.

Just stop.....

NOBODY is happy with this loss. Firing coaches at this point is stupid and not the answer (yet)

All we can do is sit back and HOPE they can get things turned around. There's fault with everybody.

If NU doesn't Contend for a conference title soon, it will happen on its own. Not this year, maybe not in 5 years, but eventually people won't be as interested, and 90,000 is a big number to fill when all the new/younger fans haven't ever seen NU win a conference title, but have seen us get blown out on national TV at least twice a year for almost 20 years. I'll never stop going, but I watched those championship teams play. Different for the new fans. Anyway, happy Sunday all. Good luck to all your fantasy teams :-D

LOL. We lost by a TD on the road where we were 14 point dogs and people are acting like we got killed. Did people expect an undefeated season or something?
And we will likely be dogs in four remaining games. Will that make going 7-5 acceptable? No, we didn't get killed yesterday against a team that went 4-8 last year but the product on the field thus far in year 3 isn't really producing warm and fuzzies for the future.

I get the frustration towards the offense... Yesterday was frustrating to see, and it remains to be seen if Lee just had a bad game or if he will continue to be like that.

But like Spinner said, expecting the defense to be a well oiled machine against an Oregon offense that has talent is a tall order. The warm fuzzies are out there, I hope...

I don't know how much influence fans have on the program. I don't see fans affecting how much the coaches want to win, or who the AD/administration would chose to hire during the next coaching search. So, what is achieved with a boycott?

Solich and Pelini weren't horrible, but were not great. They were a Kirk Ferentz type of coach. Sorry - but I don't think that is acceptable to bring that type of performance in after our historic run.

The problem lies in the fact that we looked like chumps in the 1st half... As far as national respect goes, no one was even watching the second half besides Nebraska fans and Oregon fans.

That first half was as bad as any that I can remember. The only one that even comes close is Oklahoma St in 2007, and we all ? what happened after that.

410 yards an 42 points in one half is a joke, and should NEVER happen at a school as passionate as Nebraska. I am extremely happy that we came back an made it a game, but there is no excuse for not coming prepared in the first place.

Our players are not mentally prepared for these games. I was really hoping that we would be a 4 quarter team this year, once again I was wrong!

I will never give up on them and will hope that they can become a 4 quarter team at some point. Until they do that we will have embarrassing moments like the first half.

There is something to be said about this. NU sports as a whole is struggling relative to most programs in the B1G. And then he gives away 5 million a year more to academics.

Evidently you didn't watch the game. We were killed. The only thing that happened is Taggart made it a merciful killing by totally giving up the 2nd half. If he had come out the 2nd half like the first it would have been much worse.

I guarantee that we win a game this year that you have as a loss. 8-4 or 9-3 season with signs of improvement is what I see. It all starts with defense and as long as I see improvement, I have optimism. Tackling is already better.

Again, Oregon didn't punt on first down. They didn't take a knee every play in the 2nd half. They still wanted to score. Huskers just stopped that in the 2nd. If all you want to see is negative and write off anything positive, why even watch?

Worried about buying into false hope? That's fine but at least keep some what of an open mind

Totally agree. We were told the 3-4 advantage is offense doesn't know where the rush is coming from? Well their is no rush. Our D is 3 vs 5 or 6 blockers. That doesn't work at any level of football. Our LB too slow to get home. We have so far to go to be relative it's not even a good conversation to have. Eichorst needs to be accountable to what the fix is. Coaching, players what is it!!! It's been 20 Years for crying out loud. Time to fix it.

Chill out a bit. I didn't write off anything positive and certainly didn't see it as all negative. I'm simply stating what is fairly obvious. Sorry if it offends your opinion of the game.
