I keep reading that people think it's sad that beating the 22nd ranked team in the country being the biggest win in a long time. If that is how you look at this win you are completely missing the importance of this game. First of all Oregon is still a huge name in the college football world so beating the name is a big deal in its self right now. Second of all we aren't world beaters any more, beating the 22 team is big for these kid's confidence and trust in each other and the staff. But that's not even the biggest reason.

We are on the cusp of our best recruiting class since the famed Callahan class. Now not only do we have our names in the hat with the guys we all hope we can land, we have the momentum to boot. We just beat a very good Oregon team to lead us into conference play and we should be ranked. As everyone says, just win baby, the rest will take care of itself. We should start out 7-0 now which should have is close to top 10 at that point, recruits will now see how close we really are and know that they can make a difference.

It wasn't the win necessarily but the ramifications for the future with this win.
