Why not send 11 against the punter everytime?

Of course that would mean you have an 11 on 10 advantage and with good scheme you would have a chance to block at least 1/4 punts...a blocked punt is as good or better than a great PR.

Like everything in football, it will just be schemed against. Make sure the unblocked guy comes from the left, rugby punt to the right, as an example. Not to mention being ultra susceptible to fakes. Punt blocks really work best, when they catch the other team off guard.

Who covers the gunners? Punter can just lob up a pass quickly and they convert the 4th down or score.

That stuff works on rookie mode in Madden.

I am not sure about 10, but put pressure on every punt. The center makes a mistake or the punter shanks one. Too many holding and push in the back penalties on returns.

Wouldn’t work very well as punters would just take one step and kick not having to worry about a return man.

As long as we field punts, fair catch is fine. We give away too much yardage right now, not fielding punts.

still sending 9 against 8 then...the point is why have a returner when that guy is unblocked...especially if you suck at returning punts.

then it would be a shiite kick...what the average punt return is like 7 yards or something? If you can make the punter kick 7 yards less than you win.
