Who's #1 to #30 to kickoff 2017, my thoughts ...

    1. Alabama
    2. Florida State
    3. USC
    4. Washington
    5. Clemson
    6. Oklahoma
    7. Penn State
    8. Ohio State
    9. LSU
    10. Wisconsin
    11. Oklahoma State
    12. Stanford
    13. Michigan
    14. Florida
    15. TCU
    16. Virginia Tech
    17. Louisville
    18. Georgia
    19. Oregon
    20. Miami-FL
    21. Utah
    22. Tennessee
    23. Northwestern
    24. Auburn
    25. South Florida
    26. Kansas State
    27. Texas A&M
    28. West Virginia
    29. Notre Dame
    30. Colorado

Colorado graduated a lot of talent on defense and lost defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt to Oregon. They have a pretty easy schedule but I don't see them being a top 30 team. CU won't go back to being horrible, but I don't think they match last year's performance.

You are right @schuele that they have to replace players and coaches, including DC who moved to Oregon, from a 10-4 team.

They #17 in one poll, #15 in coaches, so #30 isn't out, but others need to earn their stripes.

Colorado will open season with Colorado State in Denver, holding two game streak, then in Week 4 open Pac 12 play with a rematch of Pac 12 title game at home in Boulder.

Nine starters are back on offense. Phil Steele calls coach Mike MacIntyle one of the best in country.

We shall see. Odds are as much with your conclusion, but based on 2016, I will give them a Week 1 game to show something.

They don't play Stanford and could open 5-1, though road trip to UCLA is only road game in first 6.

Next 3 of 4 are on road, yikes.
