Who'd have thought that Nebraska would beat a final 4 team this year?

The Big 10 is proving to be a much better basketball conference than everyone was giving them credit for. The Big East and Big 12 were touted all season long and there were very few even making it to the 2nd weekend.

The Big 10 plays a style of ball that does well for going deep in the tournament. They play solid defense and emphasize the half court game. This style might not fit games in December (and it certainly isn't the prettiest thing to watch many nights) but it works in March.

Growth. Michigan State is not the same team they were a month and a half ago. My hat is off to Tom Izzo.

While it's sure nice to have two of the final 4, I don't know that the conference should beat their chest. Wisconsin was the only consistently good team all year, and their 1 seed showed that.

The conference was still "down" this year, and a nice showing by Wisconsin and a surprising showing by MSU won't change my opinion of that. Too many inexcusable losses in the conference this year.

Still major props to those two programs.
