That school? Here is the answer, it means absolutely nothing anymore. Until that kid actually shows up on campus, works his butt off, earns a starting spot and becomes a major contributor... it means nothing. Especially in this current horrible environment of the transfer portal where kids can just bail from a team whenever they don’t find something to their liking. It’s ridiculous and It’s really hurting the college football in a major way. The NCAA needs to get rid of the transfer portal.

Disagree. Coaches can leave after a year or even less. Let the kids do the same. Some guys commit to a certain offense and the coach is fired or leave a year later.

I appreciate how you feel about all of this, you're not wrong but that's just the way it is. And your last sentence is wishful thinking. The portal is going nowhere.

College football has hurt itself with the way the bowl championship series is designed. Same teams every year. It really means nothing to win a conference championship. Expand the playoffs to at least six teams, conference champions and a wild card. Get rid of them committee except to pick wildcard team. That way regular season results will matter.

Well that's the problem. You're committing to a school, not a particular coach or offense. If you want to change schools, then you just have to sit out a year. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

I think the Alabama players are committing to Saban and not because Alabama has a nice campus.
