What was that about recruiting rankings?

Rankings always match the current good team...recruiting experts aren't going to spend the money to accurately gauge thousands of players, they are going to look at offers and film...Alabama, Clemson, OU, OSU, Georgia will have the best classes right now because rivals will say they are getting the best players...that way the services are right some of the time...for a decade though Texas had the best classes in the nation and have been trash...same with Florida, and even USC. Rankings don't matter but the best coaches will often recruit the most developed players, and then develop them farther, because of depth a successful system.

They matter..

Are you required to have #1 classes? No, but you do have to have a roster to survive the P5 conferences.
We don't have to do this. We don't have to try and win with only 3 stars. Nebraska has a great staff coming and kids should want to be a part of it.
We don't have to do this....... I don't get that mindset!

WTF?

UCF has boatloads of talent.

2 legit NFL players on the DL, and an All-American LB.

All that speed everywhere else.

Get real.
People don't understand where that DLine sits in the hierarchy of CFB this year. They honestly think they did it with a bunch of nobodies and pixie dust.

UCF has a lot of kids that have speed to burn, but were judged deficient in some way. The Griffin kid was a one handed 5.5 3*, but also a had a long jump of 23-4 and a triple jump of 48-11. That is an incredible level of athleticism for a guy his size. Also ran a leg on a 4x100 relay that won the NB nationals. He would be a P5 player if he weren’t missing a hand. Milton was also an under recruited kid out of Hawaii.
This staff has had to make a living identifying value recruits. That will come in very handy at NU.

You can take a look at the Rivals rankings of UCFs front seven. Five of seven were on the roster before Frost and Co got there. The NG Hill was listed as a OG as a recruit and was a 5.4 2*. These guys weren’t nobodies, but their recruiting profiles aren’t eye popping either. These guys are good FB players that gained access to a quality group of coaches. And they believed in themselves and their teammates.
This can be done at NU, but our players will have to make the same commitment.

How about we have both very solid recruiting and great player development? :D Both are equally important if you ask me.

I don't think the players have a choice in the matter. Either get on board or be left behind.
