The idea of putting Jack in the spring game and having that famous run has really spread and what a great thing. You see these type things everywhere. Yea maybe it was done somewhere before but Nebraska put this type of wonderful treatment on the map.

My step son plays football at Horizon High School in Thornton, CO. At their first scrimmage this last Saturday they set aside a "game" for special needs kids. The parents of the kids signed them up and of course were on the field and in the end zone. They put the kids in the offensive huddle and treated it like a genuine play much like NU did. Kids that could ran through tackles juked and one even dove for the TD. Got up spiked the ball and celebrated. The smile on that kids face was really something.

They repeated it a couple times for each kid even letting them throw the pass to another and them take it in for the score. Kids in Wheel chairs were pushed for the score and others used the electric carts to make the 30 yard TD.

Brought me to tears to see those kids have that much fun and it be so simple to create for them. They had a team picture and did a little break dance for the cheerleaders during their photo op.

Was a pretty good Saturday morning. Thanks Nebraska for making this more mainstream.
