I honestly don’t know what name mentioned would leave what they have and want to come here given there are only a handful of players with talent on the roster. You don’t necessarily have to be a 4 or 5 star, but some can overachieve through hard work, strong work ethic, high football IQ, high attention to detail. Sadly we have little to none of thatI blame Riley and Frost for this. The next coach has their work cut out.
Whoever comes here is going to have to flip the roster and can’t possibly be expected to win big right away. Not saying it can’t happen but it would be on a miracle type level.
So given that, if you were Trev, what kind of salary package would come up with and what kind of timeline would you expect to see progress? I think it will take a somewhat large base salary $5-$6 Million but also should have large bonuses for incentive quality wins. A large pool will be needed for quality, proven OC and DC. Guaranteed at least 4-5 years to allow time to build. Year 1 is a true rebuild and it will have to be sold to fans that way. Expect to show improvement and real signs of trending upward by years 2-3. Solid play in years 4-5. That is the expectation and if significant improvement happens sooner then bonus!
