Looking forward to another day of thoughtful, fact-based statements. I will start it off: we should be above ever running that new-fangled "forward pass" business. Discuss.....

If the rutgers game goes south all those ridiculous arguments are going to be invigorated

this is a huge-huge-huge game

a loss wipes out any goodwill that was gained with the MSU win

If you aren't running the fullback trap 30 times a game you're doing it wrong. End of discussion.

That's a good one. Keep going with that. I know we are spit-balling now, but that has some real potential to be another reason to hate your own team and cause more self-loathing before the game is played.

That's for only this year though. It did not apply the last 7 years.

In a perfect world, Ameer, Rex and Helu would have been running the fullback trap. I mean, if our coaches were really interested in highlighting their potential.

i am 1000% behind riley and Neb - (I am sorry if my post is interpreted differently) but you and I both know what the idiots are going to be on here with if we don't beat Rutgers.
Half of them already have the 1st drafts of their posts completed and are furiously editing away so they are prepared to hit send if Neb loses

Every single loss this year and the fact that the MSU game had to come down to the last second can be explained by the fact that we aren't utilizing the diamond formation with Cross, Newby, and Janko in the backfield at the same time

We need 4 more like him. Both lines were holding all night. I am fairly certain the only way you get called for it anymore is if you tackle the guy from behind. Take full advantage of the rules making it basically illegal to play defense.

Four? How about Nine for a full 2 deep! Eek

My personal thought is we should consider expanding the width of the field. I know this would take more than just the Nebraska but the Big Ten has a lot of pull and expanding the field would make it much more difficult to accidently be for forced out of bounds. I think we should approach the commissioner immediately and get this in motion.

I believe it is okay to mix the pass in 5-6 times per game, provided that all eligible receivers stay between the hashes.

I coach Middle School football and I am positive that is the formula that can get NU back to the NC game. Of course, our bread and butter must consist of double tights, one wingback, (maybe some power I), and an I formation in the backfield. Unless they do this, NU will never return to the glory days.

I know this is not in your area of expertise offense-wise, Coach Riley, so if you need some help getting this incorporated, just shoot me a message here and we'll talk.

Very well said.
