Really?Obviously, the enormous advantage Iowa has had with getting TE's in the NFL made a very big difference but could their brand new, state of the art facility been the edge and another major reason?

Not for the facilities.....not for tight ends..... he did it for the cheerleaders!
If he is truly interested in medical school, that may have been a factor.Obviously, the enormous advantage Iowa has had with getting TE's in the NFL made a very big difference but could their brand new, state of the art facility been the edge and another major reason?
The OP is obviously trolling, but he is correct in the fact that the new Iowa Football Complex is freaking legit. Iowa toured 8-10 schools around the country including Nebraska and took the best ideas from each and incorporated then into the new facility.

A couple decent ones, but overall some true barkers.
Not for the facilities.....not for tight ends..... he did it for the cheerleaders! Yikes!!
I'm sure it was their trophy case that impressed him.
Iowa has had some success getting kids to the NFL as tight ends. I will note that they have run basically the same ball control TE heavy pro-style offense since Ferentz got there. QBs that play in pro style systems have a better chance at making a roster in the NFL too. I suspect that history helped them immensely because he sure as hell didn't pick Iowa because of the coach, the town or the facilities. He'll get a good education and he'll need it because the odds of him cashing game checks is very low.Obviously, the enormous advantage Iowa has had with getting TE's in the NFL made a very big difference but could their brand new, state of the art facility been the edge and another major reason?
But would he see the field at all in his first 2 or 3 years?Surprised he didn`t go with UCLA. They actually have hot chicks and a damned good football coach.

Some. A word meaning a few. The story on the Hawks page talks about 4 I think from over the past 21 years. I think they have more playing than that now but NU has at least 2 playing in the NFL that didn't even play TE in college. They also note that the TE heavy plodding ball control offense Iowa runs is one of the few remaining in the B1G that utlitilizes the TE so much. You play TE in a pro style offense using a bunch of TEs and the probability increases that somebody is going to make an NFL roster. So you can go to Iowa and IF you don't develop some metabolic muscle disorder that disables you for life or kills you, you might have a 2% chance of making an NFL roster someday as a TE. If a kid is talented enough you can make it to the NFL EVEN IF YOU GO TO IOWA and have a crappy HC and OC. Amazing how that works. BTW, WHEN Ferentz gets canned after once again losing to Iowa St they'll bring a guy in with a spread offense and the TEs will all be getting slivers in their ass from the bench. Some?

Oh, brother......I've seen better looking dogs in a kennel. Seriously.....not one chic in there is hot. The one blonde has nice hair......but that's about it. If you're going to school for the hot cheerleaders, south of the Mason-Dixon line is where you wanna go.Not for the facilities.....not for tight ends..... he did it for the cheerleaders!
Translation = Sour grapes.Fant sucks as a tight end. Nebraska wanted him as a defensive end. Iowa even told him he could play some wideout. Good luck to the kid, but he's not even the 3rd best HS tight end in the state of Nebraska right now.

If they sold him on this, he will be sorely disappointed. You can get a good pre-med education nearly anywhere if you put your mind to it. Plus, since he's a Nebraska resident, UNMC will remain his most affordable med school option. If he graduates from Iowa, their med center will likely treat him as a resident for admissions purposes but not for tuition purposes. If he is truly interested in medical school, that may have been a factor.
5, 3, 2, 4, 6, 1, 7Not for the facilities.....not for tight ends..... he did it for the cheerleaders!
