The Huskers had some pretty wild late season swoons in the post Dave Van Horn era. 2006 and 2008 come to mind because those teams were world-beaters until after finals and then skidded to the finish. But they at least had good enough seasons to host regionals (and get a national seed in 2006). This year felt like 2004. Really good until about the second week of April and then some serious struggles. That team didn't win a series the rest of the way, ended with 36 wins and didn't make a regional. Here's hoping the current team works like the 2005 team did to get that bad taste out of their mouths. It will help if there are also four future major leaguers on the roster.
