Westside QB Off to ND

Wow. That kid is so good he could get a scholarship at a lot of places. Good for him to walk on down there at such a cool university. Best of luck Rezac!

Good for him. Watching him I liked what I saw and he's a proven winner. They can afford to take a chance on him. Not sure Nebraska can. Of course with Nebraska who knows anymore.

I think we could have Tom Brady and the Patriots in there prime and we would find a way to lose games. Snake bit I tell you...Snake bit!

He had service academy offers & Ivy League offers.

PWO nowadays are a lot different than before because most will end up on scholarship if they stick around because of SO MANY kids leaving early or in the portal.

Last year the average was like 19.5 kids leaving early or portal.

At QB, teams used to have 4 scholarship QBs, one per class. Now kids don’t want to wait to play so transfer. PWO QBs usually get that 4th QB scholarship.

And with NIL, PWO’s can get help with tuition until they are on scholarship.

After the state championship game he waited. The offers never came . He took the PWO to play with his brother.
The tough part about QB recruiting is that offers come much faster and in waves if the QB tests well at 7on7 camps, regional camps, satellite camps, etc. And yes, if you are talented enough - and don’t go to camps - you can still get plenty of looks. But it’s a timing thing in the recruiting world, especially for QBs. Daniel Kaelin was in those kinds of camps early on as a HS freshman. Florida State was his first offer, then NU.

I don’t remember if he camped or not at Rhule’s camps last summer either. Regardless, I hope he does well at Notre Dame. I think this was a case of ND simply being on them early enough and those relationships winning out. More successful high school athletes in Nebraska is a good problem to have for Nebraska football.

Good luck to him. He is not that good as a QB so going to ND is smart. He gets the ND experience and a ND degree. My wife is a ND grad. I can attest to the doors that degree opens.

But it is time for us to get serious about recruiting. No bowl game so the coaches can focus 100% on recruiting. And goal number one has to be finding a QB who: A) can throw with accuracy; B) is not a turnover machine; C) can see open receivers; D) can endure the physical rigors of the game

I hope his parents are loaded, cost to attend ND is like $75 grand per.

I know ask Tristan Gebbia and Patrick O'Brien

You dog on our current QBs but some local kid with zero P5 offers is the answer!
Did I say he’s the answer?

No

Did I say we could use him?

Yes

D1 offers? Or no offers at all? I can’t believe ND State wasn’t all over him.

Edit- Air Force was his only offer. Unreal.
