I recently ordered a subscription to NebraskaLand magazine, as much because incessantly looking at all of the pictures at the school library when I was in elementary school. I still love all of the stories and pictures of hunting, fishing and camping. With all that being said, I've noticed several adverts highlighting the spectacular outdoor activities waiting for you in western Nebraska. In addition, on Instagram, the guys at Monkey Wrench Cycles frequently show pictures of bikepacking and camping in western Nebraska.
Sadly I've never thought to stop and see what the area has to offer as I drove to the bigger mountains of CO.
My question is not whether the region is beautiful, i can see from the multitude of pictures that it is. My question is what once you are there, what else is there to do? Camping under the stars is great for even several nights, but at some point you want to get off the path and eat a big honkin' burger and have a finely crafted brew. Is there much for a tourist to do there once off the road or trail?
I would love to do a bikepacking trip there from what I can see. Just looking to be further compelled.
