Man we are soooooooo screwed in this game! We are playing Illinois who just crushed the 1-3 mighty Kent State Golden Flashes, who have the #8 TOTAL DEFENSE IN THE COUNTRY! They put 52 on that dominant D!
According to the nice graph posted by suhnami, our past 4 opponents have passed on average 13.25% against Nebraska more than their other games. That means we can expect Illinois to pass at least 65% of the time against Nebraska.
I see history being made this Saturday. I hope the Illini starting QB has his family in the stands, as I expect Tim Rattay's all time record against Nebraska of 590 yards passing is going down!!!!!! We are going for 600 this weekend (I say 601 to be exact). After all, if they passed for 208 yards against that epic start studded # 8 ranked defense of Kent State, they should easily be able to triple that number against the dead last passing defense of Nebraska. Troy Edwards record of 405 yards receiving in a single game will still stand after the game. After all, it will just be so easy for the Illini, that they'll make sure to spread the wealth around to the whole roster of receivers and TE's.
As far as the game goes, I say Nebraska wins by 2 points, but it will be drama like you've never seen. The Illini will get one last drive with less than a minute starting inside their own 5 yard line. With just seconds left they'll throw a pass down the sidelines. Banker will forget where he is and will by accident end up on the field and interfere with the receiver's route, causing the receiver to run into him. The sideline infraction will give the Illini a chance to kick a long field goal. The ball will hit the crossbar dead center, bounce almost straight up, then land in the end zone just short.
Thanks to all the scoring that will happen in this game Nebraska will do the almost impossible and top the highest scoring output by the Scoring Explosion, and win this one 85-83!
