The former student at the center of the Destrehan teacher sex trial took the witness stand Tuesday (April 25) to testify about the sexual relationship he had with Shelly Dufresne when he was her 16-year-old English student.

The now-19-year-old detailed the flirtatious beginnings of the month-long affair, which culminated in group sex with another former Destrehan High School English teacher, Rachel Respess, 25, at Respess' Kenner apartment, according to authorities.

"All three of us were in the bed together. We all started having sex," the teen told the court.

The tryst is just one of the details revealed as Dufresne's trial on two counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile got underway in a Jefferson Parish court. Prosecutors Rachel Africk and Seth Shute discussed the fake Facebook profile they say Dufresne created to coordinate her multiple sexual encounters.

Defense attorneys Jim Williams and Kim McElwee, meanwhile, accused the teen of criminal behavior - including recording a video of himself touching a sleeping Respess with his genitals and showing the video to his fellow football team members.

The teen, who is not being identified by NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune, told the court the relationship began in the late summer of 2014 during his junior year at Destrehan High. Dufresne began messaging him on Facebook using her own personal page one day after he checked out sick.

She'd teased him earlier in the day about being "Mexican," something the teen said he didn't find amusing because he is half-Colombian and half-Caucasian. On Aug. 22, 2014, the teen and Dufresne shared a kiss in her classroom after some flirting, he said.

"Later on that night was the first time that Shelly and I had intercourse," he said.

Dufresne arranged to pick the teen up from his Destrehan home following a scrimmage football game earlier in the evening, he said. The teen testified that Dufresne drove to an area right off Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Metairie by a daiquiri shop.

Based on his descriptions, Lt. Clint Patterson of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office, told the court he identified the area as being near a strip mall close to Mississippi Street and the Kenner city line because the teen said there was an Academy sports store and a Home Depot nearby.

That location would be a hotly-contested point with defense attorneys, who said the identified Metairie location didn't match the teen's description. Neil Fontenot, a friend of the teen, later testified the student told him the daiquiri shop was on Loyola Avenue in Kenner.

Patterson told the court he found used condoms at the Metairie location that match condom discarded by the teen at two spots in St. Charles Parish used for assignations with Dufresne. She already pleaded guilty to in a St. Charles Parish court on Sept. 1, 2015, and admitted sex with the student in the neighboring parish.

Dufresne created a fake Facebook profile named "Madison Mexicano," with an image of the cartoon character Speedy Gonzalez as the profile photo. The cover photo for the profile included the phrase, "I love Mexican boys," a reference to the teen, Africk said.

Dufresne frequently messaged with the teen using the Madison Mexicano account. The teen gave the court a list of the places where he and Dufresne would rendezvous.

"We had sex in multiple spots: the daiquiri shop in Metairie, off of Carriage Lane (in Destrehan) in a parking lot by some apartments," he said. "We also had sex in her house in Montz. We had sex right off of Brandon Hall (Drive, also in Destrehan), they have another parking lot. We had sex at (a friend's) house in the shed in the back house. We had sex at Rachel Respess' apartment in Kenner."

The teen admitted recording video of Respess as she slept on the couch of her Kenner apartment following the group sex encounter. He also admitted his genitals could be seen in the video.

"It was kind of like proof," he said, testifying that he showed it to some his teammates on the Destrehan High School football team. "I told them about it, but they didn't believe me."

McElwee also suggested the alleged group sex did not occur -- and thereby no crime was committed in Jefferson Parish -- because the teen told authorities he could not achieve an erection, something the teen denied on the witness stand.
