Way to go Malachi and Emmett!!!!

The option action makes the safety think run and bite down. It's not that complicated to exploit college defenses. I think coaches try to out-think themselves.
They just need you to tell them what to do. How would you even know what is complicated first and what coaches are thinking?

Doss isn't as fast as the other two, it was Brice Turner...must have hands issues because he got moved to CB in season

He was raw as hell. Made guys like Lloyd and Coleman look polished. Quiet is as kept though if he has the hips to turn and run Cooper can make him something. He was always gonna be a project on either side of the ball. But 6'0-6'1 guys with 10.2 hundred speed and long arms don't grow on trees. Can't coach that. He's already an Avatar. Let's see what they can do with him

This times 1,000,000. He's been open plenty of times this year, absolutely pathetic that it took this long for one of the ding-dong QBs to spot him.
That play was repped with Malachi dozens of times over the past 2 weeks. It was designed with that WR to be the primary target

When they safety flew up and nailed HH on the option early I said if they run the pass off of that someone would be wide open.

I thought the same thing when that play happened. That safety had eyes on ONE guy on that play. HH could have tossed it to anyone on that play and he still would have got lit up by that safety. Opposing d"s know he rarely pitches so they now key on him.

Stretch the field vertically and stretch the field horizontally. Successful offensive coaches are usually able to do at least one of these two things exceptionally well. Exceptional offensive coaches exceed along both dimensions. Osborne was the master at this, and it's the secret of his success. The specific play in question accomplishes both of these things simultaneously which is why it was one of Osborne's favorite go-to plays. Other elite offenses execute the same way by stretching the field vertically and horizontally. That's why Ohio State's offense has been successful for so long. It's why Tennessee's offense was so dominant last year.

Teams that piddle around in mediocrity don't even attempt to stretch the field. That's why programs like Iowa, Northwestern, and Iowa State have mediocre at best offenses every single year. I don't want to see Nebraska become like these programs. And yes, these programs could probably improve significantly if they followed that advice.

Feels good when our coaching staff puts our #1 recruit in to help win the game. Injuries played factors but that was a clear play call to Coleman. He delivered.

Turner is a track guy they are trying to turn into a fb guy. Reminds me of Riley Washington. We'll see what happens.

Best thing happened besides great defense is Johnson and Coleman played significant rolls in helping Nebraska win our 4th game.
LOTS of very young players playing a bunch. Our next starting center is ready. Our next starting guards are close. Need a couple of tackles to step up. D is in good shape with all the young talent and the Texas d line commit. LOVE what I see from the kiddies.

Him and Riley had similar speed for sure. But the difference imo is the size. Riley was probably 5'9-5'10. This guy is a lot longer with longer arms. Physically they are a bit different but I agree both are/were track guys trying to become football players .

I do have confidence that this staff will get the most out of these guys.

Love our young DL edge guys. Lenhardt, Prince, van Poppel, the young walk on kid (90) was a steal and I think will be on scholarship as early as next year. It all starts up front and we have a hell of a young group.
